Architect or Building Designer?

By reaching these goals we hope to have designed spaces that are pleasing to the eye and encourage harmony, health, vitality and wellbeing.

At ECOLIBRIUM, our building designs incorporate established sustainable architecture principles such as passive solar design, excellent ventilation and the incorporation of thermal mass. All materials specified in the design are carefully considered to minimise environmental impacts before, during and after construction. The result is a building that has minimal impact and is comfortable and healthy to live in. Sustainable property planning designs aim to guide you (short or long term) to create a productive system that provides you with a sustainable food and resource supply that will enhance your lifestyle and that of the surrounding environment. The combination of building design and property planning goes a long way towards the ultimate in sustainable design and living. When the built environment works in harmony with the natural environment (the garden/property) and vice versa, resource, water and energy usage can reach its highest efficiency.

The name Boreen Point comes from an Aboriginal word from the tribes around Moreton Bay which refers to the pathway that led between two bora rings. Bora is a mens initiation ceremony of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The word “bora” also refers to the site on which the initiation is performed. At such a site, boys, having reached puberty, achieve the status of men. They were taught traditional sacred songs, the secrets of the tribe’s religious visions, dances, and traditional lore. Many different clans would assemble to participate in an initiation ceremony. Women and children were not permitted to be present at the sacred bora ground where these rituals were undertaken.

Boreen Point is home to the Apollonian Hotel, a historic inn moved from Gympie, Queensland and rebuilt in Boreen Point. Boreen Point is situated on the shores of Lake Cootharaba, a very large, shallow lake that is recognised nationally for its fantastic weather for sailing and windsurfing. The lake is joined by the Noosa River and is the gateway to the Everglades national parks area.
